If you are thinking of listing your home, be sure to check for safety issues. Keep the lawn maintained. Curb appeal matters in this market. The light fixtures inside and outdoors, on the property should have working lightbulbs in them. The buyers often view properties in the early evenings, lighting helps to see the good details of the home. Keep small toys or bric brac out of hallways, stairways and off of walkways. Show your property in its best light! Buyers are out looking for their new home, rates have remained low and smart buyers are taking advantage of this opportunity!

First full day of summer today, June 21st! With this season comes the message of safety, in your home, your yard and even, when you may be away on vacation. Making daily lists does help with the planning of our summer events. Make sure you add in some safety tips and tools. First aid kit, bug bite remedies, fire extinguishers, check your flashlight batteries, check your smoke/fire detector batteries, and anything else that may need updating for the safety of your home and family. I just purchased new sunscreen products. Last year’s can’t be good anymore:)

We have had a few thunder and lightning storms already this spring. Be sure to keep children and pets indoors during the storm. I unplug my computer and televisions. New surge protectors should be on the list of items to check, too.

Enjoy the summer season! Be mindful and careful of your surroundings. Make this a summer full of good memories!

It’s a Good Life!

Wow! June 1st!

If you are like me, you are saying, where did the time go? Summer is just three weeks away. Time for graduations, weddings, picnics and outdoor events. Such a fun environment time. You can smell the fresh mowed grass, feel the sun upon your face and walk outside, barefoot. Awe, the pleasures of warm weather. In a few weeks, it will be time to open your pool, add mulch to your gardens, plan your summer days off and to plan for some extra relaxing time. This is the season for outdoor living!

Just remember, it is a good time to buy a home. If you are thinking of owning a vacation home, now is the season to do so. Folks who bought years ago may now have new priorities. They are motivated sellers. Moving up or downsizing? I am available to serve your needs. The interest rates are continuing their low numbers, so, give me a call and let’s get you moving!

You can use this at any Lowe’s in the US.  Remember, they offer classes on weekends to help you learn to do some of the improvements on your own.  However, if you are not able to do so, you can just access my Business Referral Directory & this coupon offer, on our company website!  Spring is 15 days closer!

As an accredited buyer’s agent, I always advise my clients to ask me questions.  There is never a silly question.  The homebuying process is an interesting, yet, overwhelming time.  Purchasing a home opens up many emotions and sometimes you may feel like you are bothering the agent, or you feel that maybe, you can just wait to ask that question.  I let my clients know, I would rather you ask me, when you think of it, then to let it pass and bother you down the road.  If I don’t know the answer to your question(s), I will find the answer for you.  Believe it or not, this consumer product and the laws that govern real estate are always changing.  So, your question may be a real good one.  The team that I have works together, for the benefit of you, our buyer client.  We want you to have a good, positive experience with your new home purchase.  Whether it be a legal question, a home inspection concern, or a question about the purchase and sale contract, I will do my best to have an answer for you.  When we meet for our first appointment, I will provide you with my contact information.  Until then, if you have a concern, please write it down and then, bring it along with you to our first meeting.

Be prepared! If you are a buyer, be sure to meet with a mortgage professional and define what you will be able to afford, which program to choose, and what you will need in preparation for your loan. Whether it be a short term home, or if, you will plan on the five to ten year plan.

If you are considering the sale of your property this spring, paint, clean (home and yard), declutter, maybe, consider the services of a stager to better market your home. Yes, there are more homes for sale, but, the ones that still sell are those that are presented well to the buyers.

If you need a few recommendations for these services, contact us and we will be happy to find and provide names of good service vendors in your area.

JackIt is a beautiful, sunny, winter day here in Connecticut!  Be sure to remember those people you love today on this very special holiday.  You can give a note, a card, a book, sweets, a special dinner or anything that shows you love that person.  Hugs work well, too!  For my lab, Jack, I gave him one of his dog cookies and added peanut butter on it:)  He was licking his lips after that good treat.  Point being, it isn’t always what you give, but, that you make someone feel special and loved today:)

Oh, by the way….if you know of someone who could use my Sweet Services in finding them a new home or selling their home, please provide me with their contact information and I will be happy to follow-up and take special care of them.
